Two projects – one that entailed expanding their kitchen and living room and the other, finishing their basement. Both projects went well.
Six months ago it was time for project number three. This latest renovation revolved around two very special guests: Maureen’s parents lived in South Carolina at the time. It was decided by doctors that the two need round-the-clock care.
Jim and Maureen elected to bring Maureen’s parents to live with them in Colorado. Jim said that they love their home and did not want to move. So instead moving, they chose to have their home transformed to meet their needs. With both parents in wheelchairs the entire home needed to be revamped into one that was handicap-accessible.
Jim picked up the phone and called Mark Witte, owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. Harrington’s two previous projects were performed by DreamMaker. Jim knew that Mark and his team were the ones they wanted. The Harrington’s went back to Mark and DreamMaker because, “He does quality work and we knew we’d get our money’s worth,” said Mr. Harrington.
Jim and Maureen were spending time with their parents in South Carolina when all decisions were made. Jim said that almost all of his correspondence with Mark was over email and via phone, but that the planning process went incredibly smooth.
The Harringtons had no doubt that everything would go well. “We had that kind of confidence (in DreamMaker),” Jim affirmed.
From previous experience, they knew that Mark’s team was trustworthy. They felt comfortable enough to send a key to DreamMaker while the family was out of town so that the remodel could begin.
DreamMaker consultants and workers sent the couple pictures almost daily to show their progress.
Maureen’s brother works in construction and upon seeing photos stated that he was really impressed with the project and its cleanliness which was evident in the pictures.
The DreamMaker team revamped the plumbing, installed a heated tile floor and two hand-held shower wands in the shower stall, making bathing easier and so much more enjoyable.
A Stair Lift was also installed so that Jim and Maureen’s parents could get to the upper level with ease.
“We are fabulously pleased with how things turned out,” Jim exclaimed. He shared that Maureen’s parents are also delighted and feel very comfortable in their new surroundings.
